Markup is how much you add on top of a cost (a 50% markup on $100 of materials = $150). Margin is profit as a share of the final price (a 33% margin means $33 of every $100 you charge is profit). They are not the same number — a 50% markup is only a 33% margin. Most underpricing happens right here, which is why the calculator shows both.
